I am a PC…converting to a Mac

January 28th, 2009

With all the craze around Apple’s IPhone…I figure I should look into developing some application for the IPhone and see if I can build up another practice developing IPhone apps for businesses.  One thing about Apple is that it’s very controlling, in some cases more controlling than Microsoft, as in order for me to write IPhone applications, I would need to get my hands on a Mac and get myself comfortable with using a Mac. IPhone SDK only runs on Mac of course. New SDK SDK for iPhone OS 2.2.1 just came out.

I am currently supporting 3 artists running Macs at work, and I must say it takes some getting use since I have been a Windows PC guy all this time, but i figure it’s time for a change and explore the wonderful world of IPhone, and its ever-growing IPhone user population (AT&T added 1.9 million iPhone subscribers in last quarter)

I am currently looking at the white 13-inch MacBook with the following spec:
* 2.0GHz
* Intel Core 2 Duo
* 2GB DDR2 Memory
* 120GB hard drive1
* NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics
* Standard keyboard
* White polycarbonate shell

* Ships: 2-4 business days
* Free Shipping
* $999.00

I figure if i can really get use to this Macbook, I will then upgrade to a beefier system.  Ok this item will be on my buy list for February.

Saw a couple cool iphone applications recently…I wanna write, or recruit someone, to help me writing something like these…

Let me know if you are an IPhone developer who can write something live the above.
